FRED PERRY X AMY WINEHOUSE

Following Jean Paul Gaultier’s Winehouse inspired fashion show last week which went down like a lead balloon Fred Perry have announced the release of their final Amy Winehouse collection.

The spring summer 2012 Amy Winehouse X Fred Perry range was the last one she worked on before she passed away in July. Amy's dad Mitch gave the collection the go ahead and her influence can be seen throughout the 14 pieces with printed 50's style dresses, cute tie shirts, bustier cotton dresses and high waisted shorts.

Prices start from £55 and any royalties and fees earned through sales will be donated to the Amy Winehouse foundation, which is in the process of being set up. Fred Perry will also make a seasonal donation to the fund.

BLITZ VINTAGE DEPARTMENT STORE...

Vintage boutique style shopping has quite a reputation in the East End especially around Brick Lane. There is however a new kid on the block, Blitz Vintage Department Store which boasts a huge amount of space located in an old Victorian Warehouse over two floors. It’s impressively decked out and full of on-trend handpicked, affordable vintage clothing, reclaimed furniture and eccentricities alongside records, books, bikes, luggage and much more. What’s more on close inspection the gear is decent, there are no bobbles, ill fitting numbers, loose threads or stains. It’s the cream of the crop and doesn’t smell like your nana’s loft either.

Relax on a small sofa, browser through the books and have yourself a coffee, mocha, choca, mozzarella, tea strained banana leave cuppa soup or whatever crazy coffee’s are being served in East London these days. Definitely one of the better vintage clothing stores around.
