PRODUCT LOVE: BUTTER LONDON

Butter London 3 Free Nail Lacquer - Chimney Sweepbuttter LONDON are different from other cosemtic brands they don't use nasties. The products are 3 Free which means No Formaldehyde, No toluene, and No DBP (Phthales). The brand was born after the founder Sasha Muir discovered how many toxins other beauty products contained.

We like beauty products and we don't like nasties,so butter LONDON is our kind of brand. What's more the nail varnishes are named after London and you know how much we love London.

Our favourite ones are Chimney Sweep, coloured like the inside of chimneys, dark grey bang on trend for the Winter season. Primrose Hill Picnic, bright pink to remind us of the Summer days we spent in the park and the ones we will spend in the park. And Minger just because we love the name. We also liked the way the varnishes didn't chip on the first wear.

Available from Bath and Unwind £9.99

STYLE TALK: MEET MAGDA

LondOntheInside caught up with Dalstonite Magda, a freelance fashion stylist and assistant for various glossy mags including Vogue and Glass Magazine. Magda moved to London 4 years ago to study Journalism at London College of Fashion, and worked for Glamour magazine as a fashion assistant for 3 years. At the moment she’s in her final year and is already in high demand. Meet Magda:

US: Nice website Magda and nice work, Vogue, we are impressed! Where do you get your inspiration from?

MAGDA: From everywhere, books, films, people on the street, exhibitions, conversations, you tube, magazines, the sky, flowers - everything around me. And at the moment I'm doing this huge project about dreams and would like to try hypnosis and see if I can be inspired by it.

The other day I was sitting in front of my favourite coffee place and they had amazing stamps on the wall. I decided I wanted to use them in my shoot. So I met the guy who did them and we going to shoot for polish ELLE soon. You don't have to even get out of your bed to be inspired you just need to open your eyes!

US: Good Point and who are your favourite designers?

MAGDA: Chloe and Stella McCartney for their simple cuts and monochromatic colours. I like clean and minimalist. Leather, chiffon and jersey looks beautiful worn together and are timeless. This is my personal taste, what I like wearing but working as a stylist, you have to be open to any colours, shapes and patterns. I think John Galliano is a master, I absolutely love the styling on his shows, the same with Vivienne Westwood and Ashish. I love his sequins and I'm still upset I was 10 minutes late for his show this year :(

US: What does Magada think will be big next season?

MAGDA: Colours. Jill Sander and Prada are all about really strong colours. And it's not flowers, it's color blocking, bold, strong and powerful. Pink, orange, green, yellow and blue. When you see colours like this, forget about the shapes, go for simple, oversize pieces add a white t-shirt
also maxi skirts, especially those sheer ones and I believe cycling pants will be really big next season.

US: Magda we want to hang out with you! Where do you hang out in London?

MAGDA: I have lived in Dalston since March and I'm pretty lazy with travelling so I stay nearby. Coffee is very important. My favourite place is Tina We Salute You. Their Square Mile, delicious pancakes and homemade cakes will make you never go to Starbucks again! They also hold exhibitions and work of different artists are displayed on the walls.

I've recently discovered a great bookshop Railroad (Morning Lane, Hackney) which serves good food and sells cheap books (second hand books are £2). They cook organic food from various cultures. I also love Misato it's a very cheap Japanese canteen in China Town and they do the best soba prawn tempura in London! So big, so cheap and so tasty even with glass of their plum wine it’s still under a tenner

I don't tend to go to clubs, but I am often found in the pubs around Kingsland Road.

US: Thanks Magda, that was ace! Let’s hope we meet again soon.

SALON SPY: TREVOR SORBIE

We were lucky enough to be invited along to Trevor Sorbie in Covent Garden for a Shu Uemura intensive hair treatment. So after checking the state of our hair we thought we’d take full advantage. Trevor Sorbie is located on fashionable Floral Street in Covent Garden, inside the salon is bright and buzzing. Whilst we waited to be called we couldn’t help but notice the table of posh cookies, sweets and fruit, so in the interest of the review we tried a cookie. It was good.

We also noticed Trevor Sorbie pottering around which means he still has an active role in the salon and it isn’t just his name on the door. Thumbs up for that one.

We were booked in with Ramon and the treatment took place in a private room. First we selected the oil we wanted by smelling them, we chose winter. The oil was applied to our scalp followed by a 20 minute massage. Seriously this is two treatments in one. The massage starts on the head and goes along the shoulders and arms finishing at the hands.

After the oil is washed out the treatment is applied and then it’s back to the sink for a final wash and blow dry. We can honestly say our hair hasn’t looked shinier, we kept touching it in the mirror it looked and felt so good. Perfect for party season or if you fancy pampering yourself. £65 for one hour and worth every penny!
